It originated in Sicily and was discovered in the 1875s. It entered Turkey in 1936. Turkey is one of the countries that produce the most enterdonats in the world.
It is a medium yielding variety and has a tendency to periodicity. It is medium thick crusted and medium juicy. The most important feature is that it is early. It ripens in September – October.
It has an important share among the lemons exported from Turkey. It is resistant to pinworm (phoma tracheiphila) disease compared to other lemon varieties.
